As I know, there are two common ways on how people make money online. (Note: There are many ways, of course.)

• First option is to create a product, service, book, or software, and they sell it to their targeted visitors. This requires lots of work, but also bring lot of profits.

• The second option is to make money from affiliate program and we call it, “affiliate marketing”. You make commission from programs such as: pay-per-sale, pay-per-lead, and pay-per-click.

For beginner or novice or newbie, better you start first with affiliate program. After you know the play ground enough, you can go for selling your own product or service.
