Answer of How, Answer of Where, Free Download, HTML No Comments »

Hello,

If you are absolutely new to building a web site, the information on this page may help you gain some knowledge.

Do you know what is a web site?

A web site is just a collection of pages and images that put together and host on one remote hard disk (remote hard disk is called “server” or we call it, “web hosting”.)

And to create web pages you need to know the HTML language. In the past, people used to code in HTML to create web pages. I used to do it, too. Sometimes, it was fun. Sometime, it was a bit tired.

:-) Fortunately, now you can create many web pages you want, without having to know about HTML. This is done by using HTML editor.

There are two types of it:

  • The paid service like: Macromedia Dreamweaver, Microsoft FrontPage, etc.
  • The free service like: MyFreeWebsiteBuilder, NVU, etc.

My Free Website BuilderYou can choose either option you like, paid or free.

If you want to get My Free Website Builder, click here to get it.

Or click on the image on the right.

After completing download, install it and you are ready to use it.

If you want to get NVU, follow the following steps:

  1. Go to http://www.nvu.com
  2. Click the link, “Enter Nvu Site”
  3. Select “Downloads” link to from the top menu
  4. On that page, you can download the software according to your operating system, Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.
  5. After downloading, install it into your computer.

Now, you are ready to use your new HTML Editor and create any web pages you want.

Please take some times and learn how to use NVU to create you web site. Learning to create web page is one basic skill for you if you want to do business online.

Domain Name - How to Set It to Name Server of Your Web Hosting?

Answer of How, Domain Name 2 Comments »

Hello,

Before you can see your website on the world wide web, you need two things.

  1. Your domain name
  2. Your web hosting

And then you have to set your domain name to the “name server” of your web hosting. The configuration may take 24 hours before it comes into effect.

If you register domain name and buy web hosting with the same company, they are likely do this configuration for you.

But if you register domain name with one company and buy web hosting with another company, you will need to configure your domain name by yourself.

Luckily, it is easy to set this configuration. I’ll show you how to do it in an easiest way possible. :-)

Before you we start let me clarify something:

  • For domain name, it may take 24 hours to 48 hours because it’s ready to use. After buying domain name, you will get “user id” and “password” to log in and manage your domain name.
  • For web hosting, it may take up to 72 hours before it’s ready to use. After buying web hosting, you will get “user id”, “password”, and may detailed information like:
    • cpanel login address, user id, and password
    • primary name server and secondary name server
    • mysql ip address
    • ftp user name and password
    • webmail login address
    • and etc.

Suppose you already register a domain name, and already buy the web hosting.

Below is how I do it with domain name at http://namecheap.com (You can follow this example and do it with your domain name.)

  1. Log in at http://namecheap.com (the domain company which I register domain name with). Then, it comes to my control panel.
  2. Click on “Manage Domain” button from the above menu bar.
  3. Select the domain name I want to configure, example: darinlorn.com
  4. Select “Domain Name Server Setup” button from the left menu.
  5. Then, there are 5 boxes.
Fill the first box with the “primary name server”
and the second box with the “secondary name server”.
(Note: You get the primary and secondary name server after you buy your web hosting.)
  6. Finally, click “Save Changes” button. If you wan to see the screen shot from my account, click here.

Hope the above instruction help you in setting name server for your domain name.

To your online success!
